Karra Jackson
FOUNDER & DIRECTOR
Hi, my name is Karra Jackson, and I bring nearly 35 years of experience in environmental education and overnight Outdoor School to the Camp GEORGE organization. Throughout my career, I have also worked extensively with children and youth from infancy through K-12 in a variety of settings - including classrooms, summer camps, childcare, and as a live-in nanny. My vast background spans education, mentorship, and program leadership, all deeply rooted in a commitment to creating unique and unforgettable experiences.
Born and raised in Western Washington, I’ve witnessed firsthand the magic of spending quality time outdoors in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. I believe every child should have equal access to Outdoor School and truly understand the impact of bringing the classroom outdoors. Nothing compares to it!
My passion for Outdoor School began in 1991 as a first-time counselor at Camp Waskowitz, in North Bend, WA. I have dedicated my life to educating, mentoring, and serving others. In addition to my experience working with youth and young adults, I earned my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Washington. Over the past 15 years, I have also worked as a Registered Nurse, specializing in Hematology Oncology and Stem Cell Transplant.

Ian Davidson
BOARD OF DIRECTORS
My name is Ian Davidson, and I first attended Outdoor School as a sixth grader. But it wasn’t until I returned as a High School Mentor that I truly understood its impact. Helping younger students step outside their comfort zones, learn new skills, and connect with nature was an experience I looked forward to every season.
Whether it was guiding a group on a hike, teaching them about sustainability, or just watching their confidence grow throughout the week, being a Mentor showed me how much these programs shape both campers and leaders.
That’s why I’m excited to be part of the founding board of Camp GEORGE. I know how important it is to create a space where kids can learn, grow, and have fun while developing a real connection to the outdoors. Camp GEORGE is built on those values, and I’m proud to help bring that vision to life. Outside of Camp GEORGE, I work as a Software Project Leader at Phillips Ultrasound and hold a Master’s in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Washington.

Andrea Hallahan
BOARD OF DIRECTORS
My name is Andrea Hallahan, and I am proud to be a founding board member of Camp GEORGE. My journey with outdoor education began in 6th-grade when I attended Outdoor School. It was an unforgettable experience that sparked my love for nature, square dancing, and building lifelong friendships.
In high school, I returned to Outdoor School as a Mentor, where I developed confidence and a passion for leadership. While attending Washington State University, pursing my Bachelor of Arts in Education, I continued to volunteer at Outdoor School, training new High School Mentors.
Today, as a 5th-grade teacher, these experiences have profoundly shaped my career and solidified my commitment to guiding and inspiring the next generation.
